Attlee July 2018
General Notes
Pictures in gallery below.
Not in any super order:
Didn't check the water level in the right hand battery, bring distilled water.
Pumped barrels with electric pump and battery pack. See video below.
Would be nice to have a panel controller and battery down there, Winch, Pump, Lights, maybe someday we'll plan it.
Left center board off, should be screwed down but my cordless drill was dead.
7/8 hole for wine cork.
7/8 hole for wine cork.
Gangway still crooked but pretty safe.
Need better solution, setting it on bowling balls is not so good. Concrete blocks would be better or a crib made from black 1.5 or 2 inch nasty nylon construction fence and UV Stable cable ties with rocks or both.
If you have a farm jack, that would help. There is at least one bottle jack there. It works, but it is leaning.
I tied a rope to the dock and used the come-along on a birch tree to pull it in so there is enough overlap for the gangway to stay. This is good because it tightened the cables that go out to sea.
That rope and come-along should be a cable and turnbuckle connected to concrete anchor in the rock by the Birch tree.
There a many big turn buckles there but I an mot sure about cable. There is a lot of chain and maybe cable in the upper shed.
The pictures and a video show (see video below) the crane thing I made to lift the gangway onto the dock. That was borderline fun and pretty safe. That winch can be reconfigured for any use but I left it set up like that and it is in Door Number 1.
Water Heater:
Water Heater:
It went tick tick boom (like it should) the first time I tested it and then never again. We used warm bucket and ladle and were fine. When I got home I looked at the manual and the first trouble shooting thing was to back flush it because the inlet screen might be plugged. Duh, I didn't do that. It has new batteries and there seems to be plenty of pressure.
Ball valve:
Not that you need to use it but the ball valve feeding the shower in the manifold pit by the saw buck leaks when you turn it off. It must have frozen. It doesn't leak when it is open so it's fine for now.
Propane:
There is propane on the cottage (some) and the grill (much) and the shower (full) and 3 tanks full in the shed.
Gas:
Boat is pretty full and 5 new gallons up in the gas shed.
Kelly Road:
So I come out of the outhouse and I see tail lights in the woods to the east. Interesting and very steep.
